Hi. I'm a cartoonist and live in Alaska. I spend the long cold nights drawing gag cartoons using Photoshop and a Wacom drawing tablet squeezed tightly in the corner of my office closet in my studio apartment.
I've been drawing my whole life but just in the past year got serious and have kept a rigid 5x weekly schedule any punctual nerd would appreciate.
My topics are limitless. I draw in no particular genre and seek to expand the boundaries of the topics I've already addressed. Wine and morbidity do, however, play dominate theme, as do talking cats, unusual growths, personified marshmallows and alien solicitors.
I'm often asked "hey, why not draw a strip?" As to which I reply "...eh." I love the freedom of the gag as well as its four cornered constraints. It's the challenge of using one scene, one sentence and a few bizarre characters that makes the gag so intriguing. Plus I'm scared to death of creating a strip. I applaud all who can and am constantly amazed by those who've made it their careers.
But what I've learned so far is that you have to love what you're doing. I love to gag cartoon. I hope to share that love with you, as we all have something we love to do and the best way to love is to share.
All sappy conclusions aside, I really do hope you enjoy my panel K Squared Comics. I've got big plans for it and want Comics Sherpa to be one of the springboards into a bright, blinding future.
