Meet Lady Anne E Wehrley
Lady Anne Wehrley is Jack Radio's creator, illustrator and writer.
My dream of becoming a cartoonist came late in life after many years of doodling other strips I liked for fun.
I grew up reading Sad Sack comic books and like most other contemporary cartoonists, I never missed a Peanut's strip, movie or TV presentation.
After graduating from college with a B.S. in Broadcast Communications, I worked a number of jobs including • producer of a local Catholic television program, • adjuster for a subrogation insurance company, • manager of dairy departments for several grocery store chains, and • even did a short stint working for Candid Camera.
Shortly after the turn of the century I felt a call back to comics and began searching out a school. I found two, one in New Jersey and one in England... I chose England. "The Cartoon Institute (no longer in existence) was a great experience." "Franklin Bishop, my former tutor, remains my friend and mentor to this day."
I graduated in 2005 from The Cartoon Institute in England and in late 2006 began work on Jack Radio comics.
As Lady Anne, I am a participant in a project to conserve the ancient forests in Glencoe, Scotland by land ownership. I have eight dogs, Mikey, Maggie, Buddy, Stevie, Jack, Daphne, Samantha and Eddie and live in Louisville, Kentucky.
