The world of Blue Rice features smoking ducks, drinking gnomes and swearing snails. You'll see a few things that may or may not offend your gender, ethnicity and/or religious preference. This isn't Family Circus. You have been warned.
Blue Rice was a comic strip I created years ago that ran in The Daily Illini (the University of Illinois' college newspaper) from 1999-2002. During that time, the characters offended countless sensitive persons and interest groups, none of whom should have turned to a college newspaper comics page for good, wholesome entertainment. These lovable, obnoxious characters even went so far as to win the student government presidency in 2002, racking up almost 3000 votes thanks to one simple message: A Vote for Us is a Vote for Apathy.
Read Blue Rice all year to watch the steady evolution from a series of crudely-drawn, one-shot bar jokes to an intricate world of adventure, deceit and overindulgent wit. It's a fun ride -- hope you enjoy it."
